6 day tour: features & itineraries

Arrival

• Pick up from Bari airport.
• Arrival in Gioia del Colle and transfer to your accommodation: rest and free time.
• Dinner in a typical restaurant

1st day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Guided tour of Gioia del Colle: the castle and its museum, the churches, the historical center.
• Arrive at a family-run winery and tasting.
• Lunch in a selected restaurant in Gravina.
• Visit of Matera and its Unesco’s site “the Sassi” (cave houses, rocky churches where time seems to stop).
• Return to Gioia: rest and free evening.

2nd day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Focaccia tasting in a very old bakery with a wood burning oven in Altamura, town famous for its DOP bread.
• Arrival to the oil mill and tasting of extra virgin olive oil.
• Visit of Polignano a mare and its wonderful sea.
• Lunch in a "slow food" restaurant.
• Guided tour of Alberobello: walk among the trulli, visit of the trullo sovrano and meseum.
• Return to Gioia and free evening.

3rd day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Visit of Trani: the little fishing port, the Templar Knights’ church, the historical center.
• Lunch in a typical restaurant in the countryside selected by "Michelin’s guide".
• Guided tour of Castel del Monte: a UNESCO protected site and a symbol of Puglia.
• Return to Gioia.

4th day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel and transfer to your new accommodation in Conversano, a historical residence with a discreet and impeccable service.
• Guided tour of the large and famous complex of caves with amazing rock formations in Castellana Grotte.
• departure to Locorotondo.
• Lunch in a slow-food restaurant in the historical center.
• Visit of Ostuni: : a charming place on a hilltop with a labyrinth of lanes lined with houses painted in white lime wash.
• Return to Conversano and spa treatment.

5th day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Sightseeing in Bari: San Nicola’s church, Frederick II’s castle and the city center.
• Lunch in a restaurant selected by "Gambero Rosso".
• return to Conversano and cookery class in a trullo in the country.
• Dinner in a selected restaurant.

6th day:

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Guided tour of Lecce. Walk among the most famous baroque city in Italy: wonderful churches, monuments with neverending details and old roman theatres in the middle of the historical centre.
• Nice walk in the historical centre and along waterfront in Otranto.
• Departure to Gallipoli for lunch in an open-air restaurant with a balcony looking out over the sparkling sea.
• On the way home, stop at a Medieval church, Santa Maria a Cerrate, which has an old olive mill.
• Return to Conversano and free evening.

Departure

• Meet at the hall of the hotel.
• Arrival to Bari airport and goodbye.
